Unexplained Infertility: An Alternative Solution To Getting Pregnant

Unexplained infertility is understandably an emotionally upsetting diagnosis for any woman to receive. While it may be consoling to know that you have “no problem” or he has “no problem”, it’s still frustrating knowing you have no solution for getting pregnant either.
Approximately 25% of couples are diagnosed with unexplained infertility in the UK. With so many unanswered questions many of my clients have shared they blame themselves, worry about the future or fear their relationship could be jeopardised too. Being told by medical staff or well-meaning friends and family, “to wait it out” does very little to help. The frustrations often led many women to feel they have no other alternative but to opt for IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation), which carries a great expense and does not guarantee success.
So how serious is unexplained infertility?
If recent studies are anything to go by, the condition may not really be as bad as its name suggests. Depending on how long and frequently you have been trying for a baby, the chances of eventually conceiving are higher in unexplained fertility than in most other infertility diagnoses. A 2012 study* of 1300 women with unexplained infertility found that 43% of the women eventually conceived on their own. This means that even with this distressing diagnosis, the likelihood and unlikelihood of not conceiving are almost at par, which is good news to hear when you may have lost all hope.
The better news is that you can increase this probability.
Homeopathy offers an alternative solution
Homeopathy is an age-old treatment for both men and women struggling with
infertility. There are many subtle factors that can
impact your fertility that do not necessarily fall under diagnostic evaluations and homeopathy considers these important. As a natural system of medicine, it works by improving your overall health and resolving possible blocks that are preventing you from getting pregnant. The fact that it addresses numerous factors at the same time makes it the perfect approach for a condition where the cause can be anything.
These seven points explain just some of the ways homeopathy tackles infertility and why it could be the right treatment for you:
- Homeopathy enhances hormone balance. Hormonal imbalance is a common culprit behind most cases of infertility. It disrupts periods and ovulation cycles and massively lowers your chance of getting pregnant. Homeopathy stimulates the body naturally to gradually balance hormones and regulate periods.
- It acts as a stress reliever. Homeopathy provides relief from the various mental, emotional, and physical symptoms of stress that could subtly be affecting your fertility. Physical and emotional stress affects how the hypothalamus receives and sends signals and, consequently, how it communicates with the ovaries. When you are in stress mode, functions such as reproduction, digestion and immunity are no longer a priority for your body as its main job is to keep you safe and deal with the stress at hand. So your hormones switch from reproduction to survival. Homeopathy helps restore your natural hormonal balance. [You can download the Free EBook: How To Relieve Stress and Rapidly Boost Your Fertility Naturally here which explains this further].
- Homeopathy can gently help you detoxify and improve your body’s function. Every day you are exposed to a range of potential hormone-disrupting toxins that can upset your delicate hormone balance. These include medications, the contraceptive pill, chemicals, cigarette smoke, food additives, plastics and pesticides. By detoxing and supporting your elimination organs you can encourage your hormone system and your body to function at its best.
- Homeopathy can support you with lifestyle changes that can help boost your fertility (and I cover these in my Boost Your Fertility Programme). For example, several scientific studies over the past few decades have found a link between smoking and infertility. If you wish to stop smoking homeopathy can make the process much easier by alleviating withdrawal symptoms.
- Homeopathy can optimise your body’s nutrient absorption. Eating healthy is a great way to boost fertility, but it’s of little value if your body is not absorbing the nutrients it needs. Many homeopathic remedies can be prescribed if there are problems of poor nutrient absorption or assimilation that may be affecting fertility.
- Homeopathy can help release and unblock emotional problems, traumas or unresolved thought patterns that may be affecting fertility. Many women will share they worry or feel guilty about things that have happened in the past. Those who have miscarried fear it may happen again or are actually still grieving. Other’s will feel frightened about becoming a mother, feel anxious about being pregnant or fear the pain of labour.
- Getting quality sleep is crucial for your health including your fertility outcome. Sleep problems can affect your moods, heighten anxiety, decrease libido and deplete your energy. This, in turn, can increase stress hormones, cause overeating and unwanted weight gain and upset your hormonal rhythm.
In summary,
Homeopathy works by treating you as a whole person rather than separate parts. It is based on understanding that the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of your being are interconnected on the most fundamental level. Therefore all aspects of your health are important when
improving your fertility.
The Bottom Line
The key to getting the most out of homeopathy is working with a homeopath who will prescribe specific to your individual needs. There is no one-size-fits-all pill for unexplained infertility but there are many remedies and treatment plans that can be used to help increase your chances of conceiving naturally.
