“I Feel Good, I Feel Alive” – Could Homeopathy Bring You Back From The Despair Of Anxiety?

Overwhelmed, anxious, fearful: this is no way to live life. 

 

Yet I see more and more patients at their wits’ end, worn down by crippling anxiety that seems to take over everything.

 

The World Health Organisation estimates that 280 million people worldwide suffer from anxiety and it affects 4.6% of all females compared to 2.6% of males. (1)

And while many try everything from conventional medicine to hypnosis, cognitive behaviour therapy, over-the-counter anxiety relief, meditation and deep breathing, these strategies may help manage the anxiety, but they don’t always address the root cause.

Meet Rachel and hear her story

 

When Rachel first came to me, she was exhausted from living in fear.


She told me she was afraid of everything. She opened up to me with a list of fears that had taken over her life and she could not find a way to make them stop.


She said:

“I’m afraid of so many things and it’s holding me back in life. I’m super-sensitive, take everything to heart and I worry what others think of me.


I’m afraid of aggression or people shouting.


I’m afraid of heights, noise and the dark.


I’m afraid of traffic or crossing the road.


I’m afraid of being left alone and worry about getting older."



 

Her mind never stopped. She was constantly looking for approval, terrified of failing but also afraid of succeeding.



"I’m always looking for approval. I will replay conversations all night, wondering, ‘Did I say the wrong thing or did I come across as stupid?


I’m afraid of making mistakes so I don’t try anything new or I worry for a long time before I do.


Fear is holding me back. I want to learn to drive, to travel and to try new things.


I feel like a failure. I fear failure yet I’m afraid of succeeding."

 

It shaped how she felt about herself and those around her.


"I’m fearful of hurting other people.


I get angry but I don’t express it. I go along with it for peace."



 

The weight of it showed up physically.


"I wake up feeling down and depressed.


I have a hollow feeling in my chest and I feel panicky inside.”



 

And the mental strain was clear.

"I have a short attention span and I can’t finish things."


Her fears led her to avoid new experiences, constantly doubting herself, and carry a deep sense of failure. She longed to drive, travel, speak up, and live life more freely, but fear always held her back.

Despite being fully proactive in trying to manage her anxiety, with walks in nature, yoga, exercise, meditation, aromatherapy oils and massage, while all these strategies offered comfort to some extent, they didn’t address the root cause and her anxiety crept back . A long term solution felt distressingly out of reach.


She told me:

“I’d like to be free of anxiety and panic.


I’d like to have the freedom to do what I want without worrying.


I’d like to be more confident and to like myself.


I’d like to do things without fear or worry so that I could feel lighter and more content.


I’d like to feel less burdened and weighed down by my fears. I crave freedom.


I want to speak up for myself. I want to try new things.


I want to feel happier and more positive. I want to get back to feeling creative and get my life back in balance”.



Looking beneath the surface - The homeopathic solution for severe anxiety

 

When I meet someone like Rachel, my role isn’t just to ease the symptoms, it’s to look beneath the surface. Anxiety isn’t random. It often has deep roots in past experiences, traumas, or family dynamics, threads that quietly shape how we see and respond to the world.


With Rachel, it soon became clear that her struggles were linked to childhood patterns where she felt unsafe and they had left a huge imprint on her world. Together, we explored her story, and I prescribed individually selected remedies tailored not just to her symptoms but to her whole picture.


I saw Rachel for 6 months, with one visit per month. During that time, I prescribed remedies individually matched to her needs and her story. I used acute remedies to support her during moments of high anxiety, such as learning to drive or travelling. Alongside these, I prescribed deeper-acting remedies to address the underlying imprint of fear from her past.

Four weeks to a new life

 

In just one month after starting her remedy, Rachel experienced a dramatic change. She told me during during our session:


Emotinally she felt lighter and freer.

 

“Since taking the remedy I am much calmer and I’m really grateful for things. I don’t have that desperate anxiety feeling. 


I am enjoying time on my own and taking time for myself – TV, baking, and eating well.


It’s like a dream. I have all these great ideas now.


Old hurts, I’m working through them. Now the memories don’t last long; they melt away. The emotions have gone from a storm to a breeze.


The difference is I’m not wearing myself out. The remedies have helped. I didn’t have the vision to go on and they helped me in a gentle way. I have been trying to get past this point for years. I was on my knees when I came here."
